I your kids like ice cream, and I’m pretty sure most do, they’re sure to love U Yogurt.
My 3-year-old daughter Siena is an ice cream aficionado, and a big fan of this place. She and my husband go there a lot. After joining them for my first visit there two days ago, I can now say I’m a fan too.
U Yogurt sells self-serve frozen yogurt, priced by the ounce. While frozen yogurt is not exactly ice cream, this stuff tastes like it is, and in my opinion, may as well be. There are 10 flavors ranging from tart, more yogurty ones to sweet ice creamy ones. And then there are toppings, from fresh fruit to granola to candy and sprinkles.
I helped myself to a combo (there were too many delicious-sounding choices to simply try one) of red velvet cake, white chocolate macadamia nut, and a blend of chocolate and peanut butter. Siena had chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla, topped with Gummy Bears (which she referred to as vitamins).
The yogurt shop is very inviting, bright and cheery, and ultra clean. With large photos of the Ventura pier and beach on the walls, and surfing footage playing on a flat screen TV, U Yogurt has a local feel to it.
U Yogurt is located at 5722 Telephone Road, #13, in Ventura. For more information, call (805) 644-2020.
