Food Friday: Brussels Sprouts


Here’s a great, easy to make healthy side dish.


2 cups of small Brussels sprouts (cleaned)

1-2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ginger

1 teaspoon turmeric

1/4 cup white wine

Steam Brussels sprouts until just tender.  Heat olive oil in pan.  Add Brussels sprouts, pepper, garlic powder, ginger and turmeric.  Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Add wine and let it sizzle until the wine evaporates.  I like to cook my Brussels sprouts until they are seared.
